christina j. wang is an artist living in manhattan and painting in brooklyn. the artist was born in hawaii, but raised in hong kong. wang came to the united states to attend phillips exeter academy and subsequently brown university. a recent graduate of the school of visual arts mfa program, wang’s work explores the formal and emotional qualities of a series of curated objects. wang brings her excitement and desire for said objects to the studio to explore through charcoal and paint. in short, wang’s practice is devoted to embedding humanity, lust, curiosity and guilt to an otherwise mundane, instagram-esque, personal point of view.

wang’s work has appeared in group shows throughout new york city and the new england area. in addition, wang’s work is collected by various public and private collections within the united states and internationally.
